HW- Read Book 10- Here is a summary for those of you absent today.
Odysseus and his men land on Circe's island. Odysseus sends half his troops to investigate the island while he chills on the boat. Circe turns the men into pigs. Odysseus hears about this and confronts Circe. Before he goes to Circe, he visits Hermes who gives him "Moly" to fight against Circe's poison. He also tells Odysseus to make Circe swear to not play any tricks. Odysseus encounters Circe and uses the advice Hermes gave him. He and Circe have sex. After a while, Odysseus is sad because his men are pigs. He asks Circe to return them to men. She does and tells Odysseus to have all his men feast and lounge with her. They do this for a year. Eventually, Odysseus's men persuade him to return home. Before he can do this, Circe tells him he must go to Hades to see a prophet to gather info on how to get home....

a. Leaves Ithaca to fight in the Trojan Wars
b. Wins the war and begins his journey home
c. The Gods send him off is course
d. Odysseus has years worth of adventures that the reader does not know about
e. Odysseus is held by Calypso and Circe for 7 years
f. Resumes his journey home and lands on the land of the Phaeacains and tells his story during the feast in this honor (his story are the events of letter d)
g. Tells about his raid on the Cicones (what we read yesterday)
h. Lands where the Lotus Eaters live (we will read this today)
i. Will fight Polythemus (Cyclops)- ( we will read this today and Monday)

I hope that your Spring Break was good. I won my millions in VEGAS, so I decided to retire. HAHAH. I am at a meeting at East. I am very sorry for this. PLEASE BE GOOD FOR THE SUB! I WILL BE BACK TOMORROW.

2. Let's finish the play. In Act V. scene II the letter never gets to Romeo. Romeo has no knowledge of the plan, and he believes Juliet is dead. However, we know better. Quiz time: what is it called when the audience knows more than the actors in the play? If the sub is Mrs. Quirk, the lady we have had before, please go to her desk one at a time and give her the answer to the question.
Friar Laurence's crappy plan is unraveling quickly.
